Advanced Account Features
Hidden Accounts
With the hidden accounts feature you can remove accounts from view without losing their history. This is useful for hiding accounts that are infrequently used, or for accounts that have been canceled. Remove the complexity of your account view without losing your data.
Hiding an account is simple:
Select the account you wish to hide from the source list in Koku. Right click on the account name and choose Hide.

By default, Koku will not display hidden accounts in view. To reveal hidden accounts, select Hidden Accounts from the View menu.

Restore a hidden account:
To remove the hidden state from an account, right click on the account again and select Show.

Reconciling your Accounts
Koku provides advanced functionality for those who wish to reconcile their accounts with their bank statements. There are two great features for making this process quick and painless.
Introducing the State Column
It is possible to reveal an additional column in your account view called the State column. This column is used to distinguish transactions that have been initiated from those that have cleared.
How the state column works:
There are three basic states reported by banks for every transaction…
- Initiated
- Posted
- Cleared
By default, Koku will enable the Initiated and Cleared states in this column. If you wish to have all three states, this option is available in the Advanced Preferences.
No symbol in the state column indicates that the transaction has cleared. A diamond indicates that the transaction was initiated. A dash indicates that the transaction has posted. To switch between these options, simply click once in the State cell for the transaction you wish to change.

It's also possible to edit the state of multiple transactions at once using the Account menu. Highlight the transactions you wish to edit, then from the Account menu select

Locking Transactions
Koku also provides the ability to lock transactions once they have been reconciled. When transactions are locked, they can not be edited and will appear grayed out in the Account view.

To lock and unlock transactions, simply select any number of transactions and then from the Account menu select

Hint: for a quick and easy shortcut, lock transactions using ⌘L.
